Shirley Ann Talpas, 63, of Dugger, passed away at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, 2006, at her residence.
Born March 21, 1943 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Harvey Griffith and Opal Montgomery.
She was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Dugger and was also a pianist and a Sunday School teacher for 30 years.
Survivors include: her husband Pastor Steven D. Talpas; a son Steven S. Talpas and his wife Angie of Dugger; a daughter Carol and her husband Mark Archer of Dugger; three brothers, Harold Griffith of Florida, Fred Griffith of Linton, and Alfred Griffith of Dugger; a sister Ruth Hoffeditz of St. Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy Griffith and Charles Griffith, and three sisters, twins June and Julie Griffith and Flo Mahan.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Bible Baptist Church with Evangelist Dan Toney and Pastor Bryan Sluder officiating. Burial will be in the Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today at the church.
