John Carl Brewer, Jr., 90, of Jasonville, passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Monday, June 5, 2006 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville.
Born July 17, 1915 in Shelburn, he was the son of John Carl Brewer, Sr., and Dovie (Hildebran) Brewer. On Feb. 22, 1940, he married Florence E. (Johns) Brewer.
He had retired from People's Trust Company. He was a former member of the Shelburn Methodist Church, a member of the Elks Lodge of Linton, the Jasonville Lions Club, Jasonville VFW Post 6225, Jasonville American Legion Post 172, and a former member of Jasonville Masonic Lodge 530 F&AM. He was a Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: his wife Florence E. Brewer of Jasonville; two sons, Doug Brewer of Pickerington, Ohio, and Berry Brewer of Cocoa, Fla.; three granddaughters; one grandson; four great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and two step great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one granddaughter.
He will be cremated with Pastor Mark Messmer officiating. Burial and graveside services will be at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland at a later date.
