MARION -- Audrey E. Noblitt, 90, of Marion, passed away at 7:40 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2006 at her residence.
Born in Orange County on July 13, 1915, she was the daughter of Fred A. and Mary (Collins) Cleveland. On March 24, 1934, she married Howard F. Noblitt, who passed away July 28, 1994.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Peru. She retired from the Canterbury House Furniture Company in Peru, where she was an upholsterer. She enjoyed collecting many different items and going to auction sales with her husband. She also loved playing cards.
Survivors include: her daughters, Bettie L. and her husband Wayne Lemons of Bloomfield, and Ruthann of Marion; her grandchildren, Richard A. Lemons and his wife Debbie of Bloomfield, Tracy A. Hayes, Stacia S. Leeper, and Candice Lemons, all of Bloomington, Vincent B. Sumpter and his wife Nancy of Phoenix, Ariz., and Carol D. Sumpter of Everett, Wash.; her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Allen Lemons, Mickey G., Tom A., J. Adam, and Honi D. Hayes, Joshua A. and Amy Leeper, Ariel N. Sumpter, Audrey Sumpter, and Christen and Amanda Dotson; and her great-great-grandchildren Caleb and Payton Hayes and Riley and Jailyn Leeper.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, nine brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service was Tuesday in Marion at the Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel with visitation preceding.
On Wednesday, funeral service was held in the Bethel Church at Orlean with the Rev. Bob Adelsperger and the Rev. Bob Doss officiating. Visitation preceded the services. Burial was in the Bethel I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Orange County.
