COLUMBIA CITY -- James Charles House, 49, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:47 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2006, at Parkview Whitley Hospital in Columbia City.
Born March 2, 1957 in Linton, he was the son of Donald and Martha (Hower) House. On Sept. 19, 1980, he married Betty R. Harris.
He spent his formative years in Linton. After marrying, he and his wife made their home in the Churubusco area and moved to Columbia City in 1998. He was a 17-year employee of Conrail's track maintenance group. He was an accomplished woodcarver and a member of the former Splendid Splinters wood carving club.
Survivors include: his wife Betty House of Columbia City; his parents of Port Charlotte, Fla.; a step-son Robert Richey of Fort Wayne; a sister Sherry and her husband Steve Bedwell of Linton; a brother-in-law Lester Harris of Fort Wayne; and a sister-in-law Bonnie Harris of Columbia City.
There is no visitation or funeral.
