Josh R. Montgomery, 22, of Jasonville, passed away at 2:40 a.m. on Sunday, May 21, 2006, north of Linton, due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
Born Feb. 2, 1984 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Monty Montgomery and Sherri (LeCocq) Cramer.
He was a 2002 graduate of Shakamak High School and a member of the 181st Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard in Terre Haute. As a veteran, he had served in Turkey for Operation Northern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom. He was a member of the Lebanon Baptist Church of Midland, the American Legion Post 22 of Linton, the White River Valley Antique Association, and a past member of the Shakamak FFA Chapter. He worked as a mechanic and had just completed his First Responder Certification.
Survivors include: his mother and step-father Sherri and Floyd Cramer of Jasonville; his father Monty Montgomery of Fort Myers, Fla.; a son Cole; his maternal grandmother Judy LeCocq of Jasonville; his paternal grandparents Floyd and Ruth Cramer and Paul and Nancy Hiatt, all of Linton; his uncles, Jeff LeCocq of Jasonville, and David Cramer and his wife Kim of Linton; a sister Brittany Cramer of Jasonville; three step-sisters, Nicole Otte of Columbus, and Lacie and Evin Cramer, both of Seymour; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Donald LeCocq.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 2 p.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Rony Reyes officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery in Midland with military graveside honors conducted by the 181st Fighter Wing of Terre Haute.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. on Tuesday, and after 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lebanon Baptist Church Food Pantry through the funeral home.
