Johnie Jay Trinkle, 59, of Linton, passed away at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Born September 14, 1946 in Linton, he was the son of Orlan "Dutch" and Betty (Hostettler) Trinkle. He was married to Judith Elaine (Hall) Trinkle.
He was a 1964 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He retired in 1994 as a machinist at the Linton General Electric Plant. He was a member of the Faithway Bible Church in Worthington and the American Legion Post #22 of Linton.
Survivors include: his mother Betty of Linton; his wife of 35 years, Judith, of Linton; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Sarah Jo and Darren Denham of Switz City, and Amy Jo and Ricky Templeton of Linton; a sister Mira and her husband Dan Bowersock of Linton; and five grandchildren, Abby and Tanner Denham, and Bria, Parker and Trevor Templeton.
He was preceded in death by his father, an infant son Bret Joseph Trinkle, and a brother Larry Trinkle.
Funeral service will be held at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Terry Dowell officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton with military graveside rites conducted by the American Legion Post #22 of Linton.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children's Hospital through the funeral home.
