Harry G. Rotman, M.D., 92 of Jasonville, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital.
He had a medical practice in Jasonville and the surrounding area for more than 60 years. He was a past Jasonville City Council member and formerly served as Greene County Health Officer.
He was a member of the Linton Elks Lodge, Jasonville VFW Post No. 6225 and American Legion Post No. 172. Rotman also formerly served as secretary of the Greene County Medical Society.
Born April 2, 1914 in Jasonville, he was the son of Isaac and Anna (Tchimpka) Rotman. He graduated from Jasonville High School and graduated from the Indiana University Medical School.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and served as a physician in the Medical Corps First Armored Division with tours of duty in the Pacific Theatre, Africa, Italy and France.
He married the former Luna "Jo" Josephine Stoops on Dec. 31, 1950. She died on Nov. 25, 1981.
Survivors include: three sons, Darrell Rotman of Jasonville, Joseph L. Rotman of Terre Haute, and Dr. David D. Rotman of Robinson, Ill.; a sister Cecillia Haffner of St. Louis, Mo; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Benjamin Rotman and Dr. Samuel Rotman.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with Pastor Michael Rotman officiating. Burial will be in K of P Cemetery in Hymera where military graveside rites will be conducted.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
