William L. "Bill" Bray, 64, of Jasonville, passed away at 11:07 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Sept. 12, 1941 in Albany, N.Y., he was the son of Adam J. Bray and Mary Rose (Henrich) Bray. On Aug. 24, 1968, he married Linda J. (Tyner) Bray.
He was the retired owner-operator of Sterling Drugs for over 12 years. He was a graduate of Mater Dei High School in Evansville. He was a 1964 graduate of Butler University's College of Pharmacy. After practicing pharmacy for 16 years in the Indianapolis area, he moved to Jasonville to own and operate Sterling Drugs, a family pharmacy, for over 12 years. He was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and the Jasonville Lions Club. He was active in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Jasonville and the St. Peter Catholic Church of Linton.
Survivors include: his wife Linda of Jasonville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Dee Dee and Garicke Rubin of Terre Haute, and Jennifer and Jozef Milata of Indianapolis; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dr. Bill Bray of Lafayette, and John and Sarah Bray of Hendersonville, Tenn.; four granddaughters, Heather Buell, Adrian Rubin, Annabelle Bray, and Amelia Milata; and three sisters, Barbara Bray of Blackwood, N.J., Mary Bray of Evansville, and Pat Bray of Evansville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Tim Bray.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 489 "E" St. NE, Linton, with Father Hilary Vieck and Father Ken Graehler officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday, and 9-10 a.m. on Friday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church or St. Peter Catholic Church.
