Virginia Helen "Ginnie" Edelman, 82, of Madison, Tenn., and formerly of Jasonville, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2006 at her residence.
Born Feb. 25, 1924 in Jasonville, she was the daughter of Samuel Houston and Lucy (Ansorge) Edelman.
She graduated high school in Indiana and earned her nursing degree at Andrews University, formerly Emmanuel Missionary College in Michigan. She lived in Detroit for a time and relocated to Madison, Tenn., where she worked as a nurse at Madison Sanitarium until she retired. She was a long standing member of Madison Campus Seventh Day Adventist Church, the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons, and a Hospital Volunteer at Tennessee Christian Medical Center.
Survivors include: two sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Pearl Keller, and Dorraine and David Schermerhorn; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Wilma Edelman, and Donald and Lillian Edelman; a brother Jim Edelman; and many nieces and nephews and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lorraine Edelman and Dorothy Sutton, and two brothers, George Edelman and Arley Edelman.
Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville. Burial will be in Edelman Family Cemetery in Jasonville.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
