Dewey Francis Sharr, 79, of Indianapolis, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2006, at Community Hospital East Indianapolis.
Born Aug. 21, 1926 in Greene County, he was the son of Russell "Poppy" Sharr and Virginia Josephine Burch. He was married to Rosanna Marie (Gallian) Sharr.
He worked at Allison's in Indianapolis until he retired. He owned and operated Pastime Tavern in Terre Haute for 20 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW and American Legion.
Survivors include: his wife Rosanna Sharr of Indianapolis; a son Ed Sharr of Indianapolis; a daughter Debbie Ferraro of Fairfax, Va.; four grandchildren, Stacy, Mindy, Anjanette, and Damon; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Forrest Collings officiating. Burial will be in Solsberry Cemetery. American Legion Post #196 will do graveside services.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and from noon until the hour of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
