Clarence Brumfiel, Jr., 80, of New Castle, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Sept. 19, 1925 in Howard County, he was the son of Clarence "Curley" Brumfiel and Beatrice "Bee" Brumfiel.
He was raised in New Castle and lived most of his life in the Henry County area. During World War II, he served his country in the Merchant Marines. He was a retired millwright of Warner Gear in Muncie. A long-time member of the Broad Street Alliance Church of New Castle, he was more recently a member of the Westview Nazarene Church, also of New Castle.
Survivors include: three sons, Raymond Brumfiel and his wife Sandi of Linton, Barney Brumfiel and his wife Dixie of Lawrenceville, Ill., and Andy Brumfiel and his wife Vicki of Sulpher Springs; three step-sons, Dale Hebenthal and his wife Stacy of Saratoga, Michael Wilt and his wife Carol of Silver Springs Md., and Larry Wilt and his wife Cindy of Warsaw; six grandchildren, Chelsea, Angie, April, Joshua, Byron, and Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Hanna and Aleni; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives, Elizabeth (Betty), Lorraine, and Joan, his brothers, Robert of New Castle and Raymond of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Westview Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Paul Riddle officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
