Esther T. Clayton, 99, of Linton, passed away at 12:10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Nov. 30, 1906 in Lyons, she was the daughter of Everett and Louva (Stahl) Trueblood. She had been married to Roy Clayton, who passed away Nov. 2, 1985.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linton. She worked for J.C. Penney Company for 17 years and at Max Pirtle Clothing for several years until her retirement.
Survivors include: a son Ronald Clayton and his wife Pat of Spokane, Wash.; a sister Ruth Miller of North Vernon; two grandchildren, D'Lee Dilliner of Spokane, Wash., and Michael Clayton of Spokane, Wash.; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Moe, Devon Moe, Johnathan Clayton and Britaney Clayton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Roy.
Funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 2 p.m. on Thursday with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and after 11 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
