Darrell E. (Pie) Hale, 64, of Dugger, passed away at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at his residence.
Born July 7, 1941 in Carlisle, he was the son of Merrill Hale and Doris Hamilton Hale. He was married to Donna Harris Hale.
He retired from Langley and Morgan Construction in Harlan, Ky., and was a member of the Sons of the VFW Post 2459, and Men's Auxiliary in Sullivan and the UMWA.
Survivors include: his wife Donna Hale of Dugger; a son Captain David Hale of Killeen, Texas; a daughter Deena Wright of Dugger; two brothers, Charlie Hale of Graysville and Joe Hale of Sullivan; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son Douglas Hale and a daughter Debbi Hale Hackney.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Rev. John Booker officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
