Charles R. Foltz, 76, of Worthington, passed away at 4:50 p.m. on Sunday, March 5, 2006 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 20, 1929 in Anderson, he was the son of Charles and Edith (Rockwell) Foltz.
He was a butcher, and worked for Marhoefer's in Muncie, Superior Meats in Canton, Ohio, and Worthington Packing. He was also a meat cutter for Eavey Market in Muncie and Noels Grocery in Worthington. He was active in the Democratic Party and AFL-CIO and a former president of the meat cutters union in Muncie.
Survivors include: his companion of 31 years Donna Lou Walden; six children, Kathie and her husband Dale Cook of Fort Myers, Fla., Karyn and her husband Larry Gilly of Bluffton, Charles R. Foltz and his wife Nancy of Davie, Fla., Carl R. Foltz and his wife Vicky of Ft. Wayne, Chris R. Foltz of Hendersonville, N.C., and Mark A. Foltz and his wife Angie of Topeka, Kan.; a step-daughter Connie Goodwin of Muncie; a sister Barbara and her husband John Slusher of Hamlet; a brother Robert Foltz and his wife Maxine of Muncie; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including Denise Shearin of Hamlet, who assisted in his care.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. on Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
