Shirley Ann (Sparks) Pullen, 70, of Bloomfield, passed away at 5 a.m. on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born March 15, 1935 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Bernard Wade Sparks and Mattie Ammer.
She was a recorder for Greene County for two terms and deputy recorder for 16 years. She was a life-long Democrat and precinct chairperson and treasurer of the Greene County Democrat committee. She was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church and the Delta Theta Tau Alumni. She was a 1953 graduate of Bloomfield High School.
Survivors include: a son Col. Randy Pullen, U.S. Army, and his fiancee the Rev. Mary Pitts of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter Pam and her husband MSGT USAF Ret. Leroy Barnhill of Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Megan Barnhill of Evansville and James Barnhill of Bloomfield; her stepmother Edna Sparks of Bloomfield; a brother-in-law Richard (Wheezer) Richeson of Bloomfield; a stepbrother Bill Sparks of Indianapolis; and three nieces, Bobbie Greves of Bloomfield, Beverly Noel of Oolitic, and Joni Miller of Bloomfield.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Edna Mae Richeson, and a stepsister Sue Sparks Warner.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler, the Rev. Arlen Pope, and the Rev. Dave Wilde officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Visitation was Sunday from 1-6 p.m. and from noon until the hour of service today at the funeral home.
