SHELBYVILLE -- Donald G. Dayhoff, 68, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, March 13, 2006.
Born July 4, 1937 in Greene County, he was the son of Harold and Thelma (English) Dayhoff. On Aug. 1, 1965 he married Nancy Hengstier.
He was a Shelbyville resident since 1967. He started a practice of dentistry in 1967, and retired in 2001. He was a 1959 graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor's degree and a 1967 graduate from the Indiana University School of Dentistry. He served in the United States Air Force from 1959 to 1962. He was an accomplished woodworker, patented inventor, and enjoyed golf. He was a past president of the Rotary.
Survivors include: his wife Nancy Dayhoff of Shelbyville; two sons, David Dayhoff and his wife Aimee of Minneapolis, Minn., and Doug Dayhoff and his wife Dee Dee of Bloomington; three grandchildren, Dillon Dayhoff, Dawson Dayhoff, and Wyatt Dayhoff; a sister Mrs. Robert (Nina) Emmons of Decatur, Ill.; and a brother Richard "Rick" Dayhoff of Lyons.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Private service will be conducted Saturday with Pastor Rod Beheler officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
