Leo Stalcup, 98, of Worthington, passed away at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born Sept. 25, 1907 in Greene County, he was the son of Delmar and Juna May (Fulk) Stalcup. On Nov. 5, 1930, he married Bonnie Jean (Burgess) Stalcup. She passed away March 27, 1984.

He formerly worked at NSWC Crane, and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church, where he had been a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Survivors include: a daughter Joanna and her husband Bill Newsom of Worthington; two sons, Max L. Stalcup and his wife Olivia of Rock Hill, S.C., and Kenneth Stalcup and his wife Pam of Switz City; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bonnie Jean, a son Leo Stalcup, Jr., a grandson, a daughter-in-law Jeanette (Terrell) Stalcup, a brother Rex Stalcup, and a sister Naomi Fulk.

Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 1 p.m. on Monday with Bro. Matt Baker officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. on Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
