Opal Ann Martindale, 99, of Linton, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Feb. 18, 1907 in Greene County, she was the daughter of James and Mary (Bedwell) Headley. She had been married to Irvin L. Martindale, who passed away Jan. 4, 1973.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include: a son Ralph Martindale and his wife Darlene of Pleasantville; a daughter Rosalie Shields of Worthington; five grandchildren, Tiffany and her husband Tommy Miller, Brent Martindale and his wife Lori, Kimberly and her husband Monty Haldeman, Kathy and her husband Brad Driscol, and John David Shields; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Irvin Martindale, three brothers, Arlo, James, and Murl Headley, and a son-in-law John Shields.
Funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 1 p.m. on Monday with the Rev. Kenneth Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
