TERRE HAUTE -- John P. Atlogic, 58, of Oquawka, Ill., passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 29, 2006 at Cottage Hospital in Galesburg, Ill.
Born Oct. 2, 1947 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Peter and Mildred (Jeffers) Atlogic. On Oct. 19, 1985 he married Belinda Gayle Shake, formerly of Linton.
He was a machinist employed by J.I. Case for 32 years until retiring in 2000. He was an Army veteran. Among his interests were boating and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion, the VFW and the Oquawka Eagles' Club.
Survivors include: his wife Belinda Atlogic of Oquawka; a daughter Lisa and her husband Jason Howard of Oquawka; grandchildren, Britney and Johnny Ryffel of Oquawka, and Dezirae Howard of Monmouth, Ill.; sisters, Doris and her husband Mickey Mallory of Nicholasville, Ky., and Ann and her husband Richard Burchell of Terre Haute; and a brother David Atlogic and his wife Sharon of Terre Haute.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home, 7500 N. Clinton St., Terre Haute.
Friends may call Friday from 5:30-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial fund is being established by John's family for Lymphoma Research.
