FARMERSBURG -- Walter Leon Pilant, 57, of Farmersburg, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2006.
Born May 18, 1948 in Terre Haute, he was the son of Donald Wayne and Carrie Mullins Pilant.
He was retired from Sears. At one time, he lived and worked in Linton. He was a member of the American Legion, the Shelburn First Baptist Church, the Thunderbird Fire Department, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include: his parents Donald and Carrie Pilant; his wife Patty Taylor Pilant of Farmersburg; two daughters, Michelle and her husband Brian Curry of Greencastle and Marci and her husband Jeff Holley of Bartlesville, Okla.; a son Bradley Pilant of Farmersburg; a brother Virgil Pilant; and a sister Rita Sisk.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Shelburn First Baptist Church in Shelburn with the Rev. Michael Nave officiating. Burial will be in Friendly Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4-9 p.m. at Mattox-Fidler Funeral Home in Farmersburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Thunderbird Fire Department.
