Loren O. Light, 78, of Worthington, passed away Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 at his residence.
Born Feb. 19, 1927 in Freedom, he was the son of Fred and Eva (Myers) Light. On Feb. 26, 1949, he married Ola (Faulk) Light. She passed away Sept. 6, 1979.
He worked for Penn-Central/Conrail Railroad for 46 years, and was also a farmer. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include: a son Frank W. Light of Ellettsville; two daughters, Joyce A. and her husband Jack Graham of Worthington, and Carolyn S. Reed of Worthington; seven grandchildren, Joshua and Jacob Graham, Jennifer Light-Holts and her husband David, Heather J. Light, Sherry M. Reed, Mona and her husband Jeff Hamilton and Mary B. Reed; two great-grandchildren, Kaedence Reed and Keaton Hamilton; and a sister A. Lucille Dawson of Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ola Light, and three brothers, Wilbur, Max and Delmar Light.
Funeral service will be at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington at 11 a.m. on Monday with the Rev. Chris Breeden officiating. Burial will be in Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday, and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.
