Sandra Lynn Winters, 70, of Indianapolis and formerly of Linton, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 16, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Born March 27, 1935 in Terre Haute, she was the daughter of Lloyd W. and Alzein (Green) Winters.
She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton, the Spirit Builders, and Cheerful Hearts Chapter of Smiles Unlimited. She was employed by the Greene County Developmental Services for several years. Sandra was honored and recognized many times for her outstanding achievements and attitude, in spite of her disabilities due to cerebral palsy.
Survivors include: three sisters, Judith Arden (Mrs. Tom Mitchell) of Big Sandy, Texas, Margaret Dale (Mrs. Steve Stefancik) of Slidell, La., and Cynthia Ann (Mrs. James R. Fisher) of Indianapolis; her step-mother Olive Meyer Winters of Evansville; four nephews; two nieces; two great-nieces; and two great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church in Linton with Father Hilary Vieck officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with the rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., and on Wednesday from 9-9:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
