Una J. Sherrard, 88, of Linton and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 12:25 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Oct. 5, 1917 in Greene County, she was the daughter of Thurman Jeffers and Ada Carpenter. She had been married to Robert W. "Shorty" Sherrard, who passed away Feb. 2, 1990.
She was a beautician and owned and operated Freeland's Beauty Shop. She was also a homemaker. She was a member of the Bloomfield First Christian Church, the CFW at the church, and a member of the Psi Iota Xi.
Survivors include: two sons, Jeff McIntyre and his wife Joyce of Bloomfield and Jerry McIntyre and his wife Georgia of Terre Haute; seven grandchildren, Melinda Martin, Mark McIntyre, and Melanie Adams, all of Bloomington, Jodee Wade and Jaden McIntyre, both of Bloomfield, and Julie Plasse and Jennifer Brown, both of Terre Haute; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, two brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Arlen Pope and the Rev. David Wilde officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.
Friends may call from noon until the hour of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
