Clarice M. Jones, 93, of Jasonville, passed away at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006 at Shakamak Good Samaritan Nursing Center in Jasonville.
Born July 8, 1912 in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of John L. and Clara Mentz. She had been married to Joseph N. Jackaway, who passed away in 1968, and Robert Jones, who passed away in 1982.
She had worked for the Foreign Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a member of the Shakamak Community Church, the Philadelphia O.E.S., and a graduate of Philadelphia College of The Bible and Columbia Bible College of Columbia, S.C.
Survivors include: a daughter Darlene Jackaway of Jasonville; three sons, Joseph Jackaway of Bradenton, Fla., Paul Jackaway of Swannanoa, N.C., and Melvin Jackaway of Jasonville; a sister Edna Brooks of San Antonio, Texas; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, two sisters, Mildred and Harriett, and two brothers, John and George.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at Shakamak Community Church with Pastors Chris McKinney, Sam Bush, and Larry Lilly officiating. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery at Midland.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today, and one hour before service time Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shakamak Community Church.
