Dr. Jose M. Lardizabal, 83, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Dec. 30, 1922 in San Jose Batangas Philippines, he was the son of Sergio Lardizabal and Enriqueta Marquez. On Nov. 4, 1956 in St. Louis, Mo., he married Willie (Johnston) Lardizabal.
He was a doctor, running his family practice from 1967 to 1992, retiring in August 1992. He was a former member of the Bloomfield Rotary, a Fellow of American Academy of Family Physicians, the Indiana Medical Society, Past President of the Greene County Medical Society, Representative of the Cancer Society. He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Bloomfield. He graduated from Manila Central University in 1951.
Survivors include: his wife Willie Lardizabal of Bloomfield; a son Jose R. Lardizabal and his friend Geraldine Reker of Bloomington; two daughters, Rita A. Lardizabal of Indianapolis, and Patricia and her husband Keith Graves of Bloomfield; a granddaughter Vanessa R. Lardizabal; and a sister Emy L. Fabie.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Leonora and Josefa and a brother Pedro.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Bloomfield with Father Michael T. Madden officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. Father Madden will have a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
