Hobart Turpin, 91, of Bloomfield, passed away at 8:35 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2006 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Feb. 10, 1914 in Somerset, Ky., he was the son of Joseph Bond Turpin and Elizabeth Barker. He had been married to Sylvia Ruth (Parsley) Turpin, who passed away Nov. 3, 1989.
He worked in the scrap yard at NWSC Crane and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Bloomfield American Legion.
Survivors include: a daughter Judy L. England of Bloomfield; a son Michael Bond Turpin of Bloomfield; a brother Charles Turpin of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home Bloomfield with the Rev. Warren Shake officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Visitation was Sunday and one hour prior to services today at the funeral home.
