Jackie D. Sater, 50, of Bloomfield, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born Dec. 8, 1955 in Muncie, he was the son of James and Joyce (Tinch) Sater.
He was an employee of the U.S. Army at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Indiana University and was a member of the IU Alumni Association. He was a member of the ABATE Society and enjoyed photography, woodworking and water sports, including fishing.
Survivors include: three daughters, Amanda Sater of Tucson, Ariz., Jewel Sater of Loogootee, and Sarah Sater of Bloomfield; two sisters, Debbie Carol Arthur of Winter Haven, Fla., and Terri Dawson of Vancouver, Wash.; and one brother Joseph Sater of Bronson, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Allen Funeral Home, 3000 E. Third St., Bloomington, with the Rev. James Butler officiating. Burial will be at New Salem Baptist Cemetery in Morgan County where Military Graveside rites will be conducted.
