Leona May Rhodes, 86, of Linton, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006 at Sullivan Health and Living Center.
Born April 10, 1919 in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Verna Goodwin Ham. She had been married to Lloyd A. Rhodes, who passed away in 2001.
She was a retired beautician and an EFNEP worker at Purdue University. She was a member of the Dugger Church of Christ, the Country Corner Home Ec Club, and the White River Valley Antique Association.
Survivors include: three daughters, Linda and her husband Bill Russell of Linton, Marilyn and her husband Walt Anderson of Jasonville, and Shirley and her husband Robert Brinson of Linton; a brother Norman Ham of Clearwater, Fla.; six grandchildren, Anthony Russell, Asanda Mason, Jan Gilbert, Mike Rehmel, Jim Brinson, and Steven Brinson; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, and an infant sister.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Newkirk's Funeral Home in Dugger with the Bro. Nick Moore and the Bro. Orell Overman officiating. Burial will be in Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, and before the service Saturday at the funeral home.
