Charles E. "Gene" Moody, 72, of Linton and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Dec. 20, 1933 in Dugger, he was the son of Gerald Moody and Esta Pigg. He was married to Marilyn Kay (Yoho) Moody.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a self-employed auto mechanic. He attended the Solsberry United Methodist Church.
Survivors include: his wife Marilyn Moody of Bloomfield; three brothers, Dale Moody and his wife Jenny of Washington, Dean Moody of Payson, Ariz., and Jerry Moody and his wife Edna of Springville; two sons, Rodney E. Moody and Fred Moody and his wife Chris, all of California; step-children, Melanie and her husband Todd McCabe of Springville, Mark Hash and his wife Karen of Solsberry, Mike Hash and his wife Barbara of Solsberry, and Monte Hash of Bloomington; a granddaughter Alexis Moody; three sisters, Rebecca Streitelmier of Terre Haute, Betty DeMoss of Indianapolis, and Patty Baker of Payson, Ariz.; nine step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Solsberry United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler and the Rev. Ed Beedle officiating.
