William Chris Carnegie, 60, of Bloomington, passed away at 12:26 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born March 20, 1945 in Greene County, he was the son of Van and Mabel (Ammer) Carnegie. He was married to Carol (McElroy) Carnegie.
He worked for the Central Office of Ameritech in Bloomington on the Electronics switching system. He was a member of the Stanford Masonic Lodge 173 and a member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Highland Village.
Survivors include: his wife Carol Carnegie of Bloomington; three children, Lisa Alexander and John, Chris Carnegie and Corrie, and Scott Carnegie and Stephanie, all of Bloomington; nine grandchildren, Katie, John, Nicholas, Molly and Amanda Alexander, Bailey, Laura, Taylor and Abby Carnegie; a brother Andrew Carnegie and Donna of Bloomington; a sister-in-law Joellen Allen Burton and Ron of Washington, Ill.; a brother-in-law Jim McElroy; and his mother-in-law Ellen McElroy of Bloomington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Larry Vance Carnegie, a niece Amanda Abel, his father-in-law Hebert McElroy, and a brother-in-law Norman Roger Allen.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Highland Village, Bloomfield with Pastor Frank VanAllen and student pastor Dennis Laffoon officiating. Burial will be at Dutch Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Visitation was Sunday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield. It will also be today from 1 p.m. to the time of service at the church.
