Eiko Byarley, 78, of Indianapolis and formerly of Midland, passed away at 1:26 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11, 2005 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born July 28, 1927 in Hokkaido, Japan, she was the daughter of Yoshi Yokoi. On Oct. 31, 1950, she married Phillip Edward Byarley, an U.S. Army, Retired Major. He passed away Jan. 4, 2000.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include: two daughters and a son-in-law, Joetta Scofield of Crofton, Md., and Esther and Tony Glotzbach of Avon; three sons, Philip Byarley of Garner, N.C., Richard Byarley of Plainfield, and Joseph "Mike" Byarley of Indianapolis; six granddaughters, Marla Walker, Valecia Lahmeyer, Melissa Pickens, Madison Byarley, and Lauren and Audra Glotzbach; a grandson Phillip Glotzbach; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phillip, a daughter Jade (Mary Ann) Roberts and a brother.
Private family funeral services are today at 1 p.m. at the McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery at Midland.
There was no public visitation.
