Alta Mary McCoy, 85, of Jasonville, passed away at 7:25 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2005 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born July 28, 1920 in Smith Township, Greene County, she was the daughter of Plemoth G. and Jessie Alice (Stahl) Ballard. On Sept. 6, 1941, she married Charles R. McCoy.
She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church near Worthington. She was a homemaker and had attended Indiana State Teachers College. She and her husband Charles were farming partners for 35 years with Bill and Pam Kirk and their son Dusty, to whom she referred as her other children.
Survivors include: her husband Charles of Jasonville; a son Doug McCoy and his wife Carrol of Camby; a daughter Carol and her husband Ron All of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren, Beth Andrea (McCoy) Marrs of Indianapolis, David McCoy of Camby, Shannon All of Westfield, and Ryan All of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Worthington Chapel with Jack Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and after 9 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Lincoln Christian Church or Worthington Senior Citizens.
