Jewell Eva (Booker) Edds Correll, 93, of Linton, passed away at 2:28 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born April 19, 1912 in Sullivan, she was the daughter of James and Lena (Meyer) Booker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Linton, a 50-year member of the Dugger Eastern Star, where she was Worthy Matron, had worked at Mary Sherman Hospital in Sullivan for seven years as a nurse's aid, and was in the motel business for seven years in California.
Survivors include: a son James Edds of Anaheim, Calif.; a daughter Phyllis Scroggs of Many, La.; two step-daughters, Carolyn Hoffman of Monroeville, and Barbara Griffin of Linton; a step-son Paul Correll of Linton; six grandchildren; and 13 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Paul Edds, her second husband Jesse Correll, two brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel at 1 p.m. on Friday with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, and after 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
