Marguerite Edna Smith of Lampasas, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2005 at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas.
Born Dec. 5, 1922 in Worthington, she was the daughter of Clayton and Edna Palmer Baker. On Sept. 12, 1945, she married Wilton "Bud" Smith in Indianapolis.
She worked for the First National Bank in Killeen, Texas, and was a telephone operator for Midtex Telephone Company in Killeen. She was a member of the Rumley Home Extension Club and the First Street Church of Christ in Lampasas, Texas.
Survivors include: her husband Wilton "Bud" Smith of Lampasas, Texas; a son David Ray Smith and his wife Grace of Lampasas; a daughter Barbara Husse of Lampasas; four brothers and their wives, Raymond and Louise Baker of Worthington, Max and Roma Baker of Worthington, Buddy and Ernestine Baker of Brazil, and Robert and Mary Baker of French Lick; a brother-in-law Bill Hulett of Worthington; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Edna Elaine, a granddaughter Barbara Joyce Brown, two sisters, Anna Duncan and Wanda Hulett, a brother Wilson Baker and three infant brothers.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday at Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel in Lampasas, Texas. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
