Mary Halstead-Fincher, 87, of Linton and formerly of Blytheville, Ark., passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, 2005 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Sept. 19, 1918 in Blytheville, Ark., she was the daughter of David and Bessie (Taylor) Eaton.
She was a homemaker and an avid gardener and fisherman. She lived in Arkansas for 83 years, moving to Linton in 2001.
Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law Pete and Charlene Halstead; a granddaughter Megan Halstead; a great-grandson Brayden Stremming, all of Linton; a sister Lois White of Arkansas; two nieces; and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband R.M. "Jack" Halstead, her second husband Sam Fincher, two sisters, Sue Thompson and Hat Boydston, and two brothers, Sharon and Ernest Ellis.
Graveside service was conducted at Maple Grove Cemetery in Blytheville, Ark., on Monday, Oct. 31, 2005.
Visitation was at Cobb Funeral Home in Blytheville on Monday.
Local arrangements were handled by Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel.
