Otis Jenkins, 80, of Linton, passed away this morning, Nov. 2, 2005 at his residence.
Born May 4, 1925 in Crawford County, he was the son of Ottis and Minnie (Hawkins) Jenkins. On June 26, 1965, he married Lois (Hall) Jenkins.
He graduated from Marengo High School in 1946 and from New Albany Business College in 1947. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked at Crane as a supply clerk until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of the Linton and Bloomfield First Christian Church.
Survivors include: his wife Lois of Linton; his daughter and son-in-law Angie and Keith King of Linton; two sisters, Joyce and her husband Homer Broghton of Marengo and Olive Jackson of Milltown; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a half-sister Geachial McIntosh, a half-brother Bryan Scott, a sister Pearl Austin and a brother Earl James Jenkins.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Linton First Christian Church. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, and after 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Linton First Christian Church Prime Timers or the Greene County Hospice through the funeral home.
