BARGERSVILLE -- Richard Bradley Squire, 79, of Bargersville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Born Jan. 23, 1926 in Greene County, he was the son of William and Flavah (Hoffiditz) Squire. On April 26, 1946, he married Lena M. (Moore) Squire.
He had been a skill trade welder for the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis for 28 years retiring in 1988. Previously, he had been employed by Stewart Warner Company in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Waverly Baptist Church, United Auto Workers Union 1111 in Indianapolis, a Lifetime member of the N.R.A., and a Lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association. He was a volunteer with Zion's Hills School in Dugger, where he was involved in the construction of the school gymnasium, and was also involved with Heritage College in Greenwood. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle.
Survivors include: his wife Lena of Bargersville; a daughter Vicky J. and her husband Thomas Umbarger of Bargersville; grandson Bradley M. Umbarger and his wife Michelle of Bargersville; grandchildren, Dustin and Emily Ann Umbarger; and step-grandchildren, Amber and Ashley Guidry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Leonard Squire and a sister Madge Bledsoe.
Funeral service will be conducted today at 11:30 a.m. at the Waverly Baptist Church, 7225 Old State Road 37 North, with the Rev. David Ball officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
Visitation was Tuesday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 South State Road 135, Greenwood and today from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
