Cecil "Leo" Copple, , 63, of Coal City, passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005 at his residence.

Born Aug. 10, 1942 in Dugger, he was the son of Homer Edward Copple and Gwendolyn Geneva (Ladson) Copple.

Leo was an avid short wave operator, owner of Leo's CB Shop in Switz City for many years and was known as "Mulehead" to his radio contacts around the world.

Survivors include: his wife Shirley Dean (Carter) Copple of Coal City; his children, Carol (Copple) and her husband Rick Jones of Mount Vernon, Ill., Geneve Copple Kunz of El Cajon, Calif., Catherine (Copple) and her husband Rick Gilkerson of DeKalb, Ill.; sisters, Juanita and Lamae Copple; brothers, Ron and Sam Copple; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Sam Copple.

Funeral services for the family will be private.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Beech United Methodist Church, County Road 800 South, 2 1/2 miles north of Coal City.
