William "Bill" E. Engelhardt, 53, of Switz City, passed away at 5:35 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born May 8, 1952 in Neenah, Wis., he was the son of Edward and Ruth Marie (Keltesch) Engelhardt. On March 22, 1997, he married Lee Ann (Hamlin) Engelhardt.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a welder and steel fabricator, owning and operating B & L Steel Sales.
Survivors include: his wife Lee Ann Engelhardt of Switz City; his father and step-mother Edward and Ann Engelhardt of Bloomington; a son William Edward Engelhardt, II of Whitewater, Wis.; a daughter Carmen Marie Engelhardt of Whitewater, Wis.; a step-son Joshua David Hallatt and his wife Leslie of New Castle; a step-daughter Amber Rebecca Gilreath and her husband Thomas of Worthington; a sister Barbara Ann Martin and her husband David of Worthington; a nephew Dean Martin, his wife Dena and their children, all of Worthington; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends may call at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Worthington Chapel on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. with military rites given at 8 p.m. at the funeral home by the Worthington American Legion.
There will be no funeral service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Society through the funeral home.
