Verlin R. Pearson, 69, of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:47 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital.
Born Dec. 22, 1935 in Greene County, he was the son of John M. Pearson and Hattie Williams. He was married to Betty L. (Jones) Pearson.
He was a self-employed contractor for Pearson & Sons Construction in Bloomfield. He was a member of the Switz City Full Gospel Church.
Survivors include: his wife Betty L. Pearson of Bloomfield; three sons, Rick Pearson of Nashville, Tenn., Jeff Pearson of Elnora, and Steve Pearson of Bloomfield; five sisters, Louise Hardisty of Lyons, Jewie Aulberry of Bicknell, Linda Collier of Bloomington, Bessie Mathena of Linton, and Ellen Rose Hudson of Edmonton, Ky.; three brothers, Jackie David Pearson of Arcadia, Bennie Albert Pearson of Indianapolis, and Wayne Pearson of Indianapolis; five grandchildren, Alicia Beth, Chelsea, Chase, Kyle, and Ryan; and one great-grandchild Evan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Henry Pearson and Georgie Pearson, and three sisters, Melvina Whaley, Carrie Pearson, and Lillian Ellett.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Sam Hill officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Visitation was Sunday and today from noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.
