Ruthie Conway, 74, of Worthington, passed away at 7:48 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at Bloomington Hospital.
Born December 16, 1930 in Worthington, she was the daughter of John W. DeFrees and Mary Epperson Spaulding. She had been married to Gerald Eugene "Gene" Conway, who passed away January 7, 1984.
She was a homemaker and she and her husband owned and operated Conway's Corner Rexall in Worthington. She attended Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church in Worthington.
Survivors include: three daughters, Cynthia and her husband Carroll McCauley of Panama City, Fla., Mary and her husband Jim Benjamin of Columbus, and Gena and her husband David Kelly of Linton; three sons, George Conway and his wife Debbie of Worthington, David Conway of Panama City, Fla., and John Conway and his wife Becky of Winslow; 20 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Gerald, and a brother Charles William "Kayo" DeFrees.
Memorial services will be held at Folsom Memorial United Church in Worthington Saturday at 3 p.m. with Rev. Doug Sanders officiating.
Friends may call at the church after 1 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Folsom Memorial United Methodist Church Apportionment Fund at the church or at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Worthington.
