Roy A. Harper, 84, of Bloomington, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005 at Beverly Health Care Center of Bloomington.
Born May 30, 1921 in Greene County, he was the son of William Randolph Harper and Josephine Holman.
He was self-employed as a logger and worked at Crane during World War II. He attended the Cincinnati Pentecostal Church. He resided the last 33 years with his brother Ron and Joyce in Bloomington until a few weeks ago when he went to the nursing home.
Survivors include: a sister Leona Broshy of Bloomington; three brothers, Harry Harper and his wife Phillis of Springville, Fred Harper and his wife Maxine of Springville, and Ronald Harper and his wife Joyce of Bloomington; and numerous nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly and will miss him, as will the rest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Darrell and Jr. Harper, and two sisters, Hazel Dishman and Lois Dishman.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. today at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield with the Rev. Keith Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Flynn Cemetery, Greene County.
Visitation was Sunday and from 10 a.m. today until the hour of services at the funeral home.
