Harold L. Umphenour, 80, of Greenwood and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 3:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005 at his residence.
Born Sept. 19 1925 in Danville, Ill., he was the son of Carl M. Umphenour, Sr. and Martha R. (Rehberg) Umphenour. He had been married to Julia J. Umphenour, who passed away April 2, 2002.
He was a superintendent for Pennwalt Corporation in Wyandotte, Mich., and a U.S. Marine veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of the Mineral United Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 196 in Bloomfield.
Survivors include: two daughters, Carol L. Umphenour and Donna J. Kelker, both of Greenwood; three brothers, Everett Umphenour of Danville, Ill., Charles Frederick Umphenour of Curtwood, Mo., and Barton Umphenour of Wapapello, Mo.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Julia, two sisters Zepha and Edythe, and a grandson Martin.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. on Sunday at Mineral United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Swango and the Rev. Ralph Roach officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Ridge Cemetery. There will be military graveside service conducted by the American Legion Post 196 of Bloomfield.
