Roy Dale Johnson, 82, of Bloomfield, passed away at 1:43 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005, at Hospitality House in Bloomington.
Born July 16, 1923 in Solsberry, he was the son of Clovis "Shorty" and Lucy (Campbell) Johnson. He had been married to Betty M. Johnson, who passed away July 21, 1991.
He was a drafting engineer for Youngstown Steel and an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of the Solsberry United Methodist Church. He was a lifetime member of the Elks in Montana and a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include: three sons, Randy Johnson and his wife Darlene of Demotte, Marty Johnson and his wife Kay of Las Vegas, Nev., and Brad Johnson of Bloomington; two granddaughters, Amanda Wojtysiak of Merrillville and Jessica Johnson of Las Vegas, Nev.; two sisters, Mildred Pizzola of Muncie and Mary Ducharme and her husband Marvin of Solsberry; an aunt Kathryn Eller of Solsberry; and several caring nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Betty, a sister Louise Prokopovich, and three brothers, Harold "Buck", Francis, and Warren Johnson.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Rev. Billy Ed Hostettler officiating. Burial will be in Solsberry Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until the hour of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
