Charles R. Dale, 85, of Linton and formerly of Bloomfield, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 at Greene County General Hospital in Linton.
Born June 9, 1920 in Morgantown, he was the son of John Charles and Cecilia (Eaton) Dale. He had been married to Audrey G. Dale, who passed away Aug. 28, 1998.
He was a truck driver for the Bloomfield Brickyard and Small & Wilson in Bloomfield. He was a member of the IOOF, Bloomfield, the Retired Teamsters Local 144, and Mount Calvary Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include: two sons, Raymond E. Dale of Linton and Charles L. Dale of Lake Village; a brother George Allen Dale of Salem, Ore.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Audrey, two brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Jenkins & Sons Funeral Home, Bloomfield, with the Rev. Forrest Collings officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today, and one hour prior to service Thursday at the funeral home. There will be IOOF service today at 7 p.m.
