Lola Irene Halbach, 73, of Linton, passed away at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005 at Glenburn Home in Linton.
Born Jan. 11, 1932 in Linton, she was the daughter of Homer G. and Helen L. (Russell) Flater. On Nov. 24, 1949, she married Charles R. Halbach.
She owned, operated and was an instructor at the Linton Beauty College for many years. She was a member of the First Church of God, Linton. She sang with the Gospel Notes for several years.
Survivors include: her husband Charles Halbach of Linton; three daughters, Jean A. and her husband Gary Gregory, Diana L. Teague, and Kathy S. Smith, all of Linton; five grandchildren, Tere S. Moore, Amanda L. Boulanger, Heather D. Smith and Matthew Teague, all of Linton, and Ryan Smith of San Diego, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Brady, Kyle, Kennedy, and Madison; two brothers, Jerry L. Flater and his wife Deloris, and Jack G. Flater and his wife Mary, all of Linton; a sister Caroline and her husband Glen Cass of Martinsville; and a sister-in-law Rita and her husband Bob Blaker of Linton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel, Linton, with the Rev. John Catchem and the Rev. James DeLaney officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Linton.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Friday with family calling at 4 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Saturday at the funeral home.
