Willis Howard Taylor, 56, of Jasonville, passed away at 11 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, south of Bloomfield due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born Oct. 11, 1948 in Linton, he was the son of Joseph Franklin and Virginia (Sharp) Taylor.
He worked as an operator in the utility services at Crane NWSC. He was a member of the Howesville Church of God, the Buck Creek Muzzle Loaders, and the American Legion Post 22 of Linton. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include: his wife Vivian "Kathy" (Killian) Taylor of Linton; two step-daughters, Christi Thorpe of Lafayette and Jeana Gron of Columbus, Ohio; a step-son Justin Gron of Columbus, Ohio; a sister Josephine Stefancik of Linton; two brothers, Albert Taylor and James Taylor, both of Linton; and three grandchildren, Joshua M. Thorpe, Cayleb A. Thorpe, and Alexis N. Thorpe.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel with Jerry Carmichael officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. American Legion Post 22 will conduct military graveside rites.
Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday, and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made for the benefit of the grandchildren through the funeral home.
