Howard M. Rayhill, 79, of Washington, passed away at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes.
Born Nov. 24, 1925 in Montgomery, he was the son of Homer C. and Myrtle (Akins) Rayhill. On Aug. 4, 1973, he married Goldie Wilson.
He had attended Washington High School and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He had been self-employed and loved to travel.
Survivors include: his wife Goldie Rayhill of Washington; two sons, Howard Scott Rayhill of Franklin and John Dillon of Washington; three daughters, Kelly Koepper of Franklin, Debra Stratton of Kendallville, and Christa Lemons of Keyser, W.V.; two sisters, Phyllis Lenert of Las Vegas, Nev., and Wanda Fleming of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Harry, Paris, Gilbert, Hobart, and Homer, Jr., and two sisters, Luciele Bockman and Sally Blake.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Ed Lee Mortuary, Washington. Burial will be at Sugarland Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation was on Sunday at the funeral home.
