Jan Richard Enstrom, 43, of Madison and formerly of Jasonville, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2005 at Dupont.
Born July 12, 1962 in Linton, he was the son of William Eugene and Janice K. (Ketchem) Enstrom. On July 27, 2001, he married Melissa K. Fisher.
He was a Master Sergeant in the Indiana Air National Guard, JFAC-IN-Det2, Jefferson Range, Madison. He served on active duty during the Persian Gulf War and presently in the War on Terror. He was a 1980 graduate of Shakamak High School in Jasonville, where he played basketball and baseball. He attended Indiana State University. He had been living in Madison since 1987. He was a member of the Jasonville American Legion Post 172, Jasonville VFW Post 6225, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, camping, and riding his 1993 Electra Glide Harley Davidson Motorcycle.
Survivors include: his wife Melissa K. Enstrom of Hanover; two sons, David Miles Joslin and Ian Kendall Enstrom, both at home; his parents William and Janice Enstrom of Jasonville; a brother William Thomas Enstrom and his wife Nancy of Jasonville; two nieces, Erika Enstrom and Samantha E. Callis; one nephew Alex Enstrom; his mother-in-law Janet E. Fisher of Bedford, Ky.; his grandparents-in-law Johnnie and Ella Jean McDowell of Bedford, Ky.; two sisters-in-law Michelle E. Callis and her husband Ronnie of Bedford, Ky., and Melinda C. Fisher of Louisville, Ky.; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas Kendall Ketchem, Gail Virginia Hasting Ketchem, Cealia Bockman and Harry Alfred Enstrom.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville with the Rev. Mike Rotman officiating. Burial will be in K of P Cemetery in Hymera. Full Military Honors will be conducted by the Indiana Ceremonial Unit, 181st Fighter Wing Honor Guard.
Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. today at the Morgan-Webster-Nay Funeral Home, 325 Demarce Drive, Madison, and 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home, Jasonville.
