Joseph Wayne Boruff, 89, of Indianapolis passed away Aug. 6, 2005 at 3:40 a.m. at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
He was born Oct. 12, 1915 in Greene County. He was the son of Elmer and Fannie Moss Boruff.
He graduated from Jasonville High School. He began his career with Wilkinson Lumber Company as a young man while still in high school. He continued with the company throughout his working years. He moved to the Speedway area in Indianapolis in 1945 to advance within the lumber company. He served as manager with Wilkinson Lumber until his retirement. On July 3, 1945 he married Joanna Eccles, and she survives. He was a member of the Howesville Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed woodworking, going to sporting events, and music.
He is survived by two brothers-in-law, Charles Eccles of Plainfield and Don Eccles of Jasonville; one sister-in-law, Betty Rhoderick of Lawrence; and several nieces and nephews and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister, Virginia Norris.
Service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9-11 a.m.
